Banquet Mega Spicy Crispy Chicken on a brioche bun

Lately I've been craving fried chicken (again?), but my wife has been staunchly anti-fast food. That's probably a good thing though when considering my waistline and budget. So I made a compromise: let's air fry some frozen chicken patties, and make the sandwiches I've been lusting after at home!

However, I've been burned a few times by frozen chicken products, especially things with "fried" or "crispy" in the name. My last experience was with some Banquet fried chicken pieces that were basically 40% breading, and burned in the air fryer at the recommended settings. I didn't even finish that bag, and I almost never throw food away. It hurts my soul to throw food away.

But seeing the product I used today in the store gave me hope. Who doesn't like MEGA in the name, especially when describing fried chicken? This is America after all. So I thought I'd give old Banquet another shot, and I'm so glad I did. These are fantastic.

What you'll need:

Instructions:
  • Air fry your chicken or heat according to your chosen package instruction
  • Assemble sandwich
  • Eat sandwich
  • Not trying to be snarky, it's just a simple recipe here

Honorable mention:

This sauce is pretty great, and is definitely a value. On brand Walmart, bravo! Comes pretty close to Raising Cane's sauce for me, I probably couldn't tell in a blind test.
